INTRAVENOUS (IV) THERAPIES
UNDERSTANDING IV NUTRIENTS AND THEIR BENEFITS
IV therapy delivers fluids or prescribed nutrients directly into a vein. The ingredients and formulation vary depending on the treatment being considered and may include NAD⁺, vitamin B12, other B vitamins or glutathione.
These nutrients each have different roles in the body, but that does not mean an infusion will provide a noticeable benefit for everyone. A clinician should review your health, medicines and individual needs, and explain the potential benefits, risks and alternatives before treatment is considered.
WHAT CAN IV THERAPIES CONTAIN?
Formulations vary. Some may include NAD+, vitamin B12, other B-complex vitamins or glutathione. Each ingredient has a different role in the body, and the evidence for IV wellness benefits varies.
NAD+

A molecule found in all cells, involved in energy metabolism and cell function. Research into wider wellness benefits from IV NAD+ is still limited.

VITAMIN B12
Helps with red blood cell formation, DNA production and normal nervous-system function. Treatment may be important for diagnosed deficiency.
B-COMPLEX VITAMINS

A selection of B vitamins involved in normal processes such as energy metabolism, cell function and blood-cell formation. Formulations vary.
GLUTATHIONE

An antioxidant made naturally by the body that helps protect cells from oxidative stress. Claims about broad detox or skin-lightening benefits need caution.
